Visitors to the Baby Show, which will take place in Auckland on 23-25 August, will get their own mobile application to use at the event.
The app, available for both iOS and Android, will help visitors browse the nearly 200 exhibitors at the show, as well as get information on seminars, speakers and entertainment options, while creating their own personal show schedule and favourites.
Each exhibitor listing on the app includes information on the company along with special offers, links to websites and contact details. Users can rate each seminar and add notes on the fly, as well as follow the #babyshow tweets on Twitter, even without a Twitter account.
The application also includes an interactive floor plan map and a QR code scanner that makes it easier to collect information from the different stands.
The Baby Show app is available from App Store or go to http://iphone.babyshow.mobi/ for iPhone, http://android.babyshow.mobi/ for Android, or download from http://babyshow.mobi/ for other phones, tablets, and laptops with internet access.
Once opened, enter your email address and the pre-set password: babyshow.
“This app is very cool and truly useful. It will help our visitors get so much more out of the show,” says Dona White, CEO of North Port Events, which organises the Baby Show.
“Basically it takes just about all the info we’ve had available online via our awesome website and squishes it into their favourite mobile device so they can carry it with them before, during, and after the show and access it anywhere on their own terms,” she adds.
“It’s all about making the whole experience easier and more efficient – and if you’re dealing with prams, tantrums, and tiny accidents, you need as much easy and efficient as you can get.”
