TSB Bank's new mobile service incorporates a customisable user interface packed with widgets and Bump technology.

Technology services manager Marie Collins says the iPhone app [my]bank is capable of all the normal functionality found on internet banking sites, plus more: a widget library including foreign exchange widget with live rates and social media widget to share financial goals with friends; the ability to open, close, and name accounts; the ability to communicate with TSB through Skype and social media; and the option to customise the look of the system.

The app also has Bump capability, letting users make a secure payment by bumping their iPhone with someone else’s.

“The bank already offers a full-service HomeBank banking solution, but with [my]bank we’ve gone one better. Backed up by our existing infrastructure, [my]bank is truly customer driven as it puts the customer in charge and lets them choose how the service evolves."
 
Also new for TSB is the introduction of [my]bank labs, where users can vote on current functions they like or dislike, and submit their own ideas for projects.
 
The app is only available on iOS but Collins says it doesn't stop there.

"We will soon be launching a desktop version and are in design on an Android version as well."
