Object find: the Pascal stool

Confirming that looks can be deceiving.

?
This chair may look like an angler fish morphed into a beautiful piece of furniture (just picture the pine corks as teeth), but don’t be afraid to take a seat. The corks are made more comfortable by soft foam in the laminated pine base, a necessity as it relies on the pressure from the user’s weight to activate the overhead lamp.

Designer Holly Bradshaw-Clegg, who’s a finalist in the Best Design Awards for the seating, gives a demonstration in the video below.

Surf, design, travel – these are the things that gets Leigh out of bed every morning (those, and a piping hot cup of milky tea). She holds qualifications in both fashion design and communications, and has written a bunch of fashion, beauty, food, travel and design stories.
